“Our Shepherd majors in restoring hope to the soul. Whether you are a lamb lost on a craggy ledge or a city slicker alone in a deep jungle, everything changes when your rescuer appears. Your loneliness diminishes because you have fellowship. Your despair decreases because you have vision. Your confusion begins to lift because you have direction. Please note: you haven’t left the jungle. The trees still eclipse the sky, and the thorns still cut the skin. Animals lurk and rodents scurry. The jungle is still a jungle. It hasn’t changed, but you have. You have changed because your hope has been restored. And you have hope because you have met Someone who can lead you out.” Max Lucado Begin Again.

Most of us are familiar with Psalm 23, “The Lord is my Shepherd…” I read it at most every funeral I officiate. Jesus Christ is my Shepherd. He is the One leading me. Walking with me. Giving me Hope and restoring my Soul.

He extends that same offer into your heart and life today. His invitation is recorded in Matthew 11:28-30. An invitation etched onto the back of the cemetery monument of my friend Rod Wagaman. If you live local, stop by Strang’s Cemetery and see it yourself. A hand, pierced by a nail, extended, inviting you to come, He is waiting for you!

“Come to Me”, declares Jesus. “Come follow Me”, He beckons. Weary, Come and find Rest for your Soul. His Hand is extended to you, make Him your Good Shepherd. Won’t you come? Today is the day of Salvation, this is your moment to say hello to God the Father through Jesus Christ the Son.

SMILE - you are loved…enjoy the journey

Pastor Lee
